Since 1966, we have been handling patents, trademarks and designs for predominantly German medium-sized and larger companies. Our firm was founded by Werner and Ilse Freischem. In the course of time, the team of patent attorneys was strengthened first by their son Stephan and later by other patent attorneys. While growing, we were able to preserve the family character of the firm. You can read more about this in the History section. Our office is centrally located at Barbarossaplatz in Cologne, Germany. It is easily accessible by public transport. Of course, an underground car park is also available for our clients.
Currently, there are four patent attorneys working in our office. Their work is supported by dedicated employees.
Every patent attorney in our firm has completed a degree in science or engineering. Subsequently, each patent attorney has undergone years of additional training to qualify as a national patent attorney and has passed the European Qualifying Examination of the European Patent Office.
All our patent attorneys are admitted to practice before the German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA), the Federal Patent Court (BPatG), the European Patent Office (EPA) and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) as well as the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) and participate in disputes before ordinary courts. They are subject to the Law on Patent Attorneys and are members of the Chamber of Patent Attorneys.
